The Black
Farmers and Urban Gardeners Conference is organized by Black Urban Growers
(BUGs), an organization of volunteers committed to building networks and community support
for growers in both urban and rural settings. Through education and
advocacy around food and farm issues, we nurture collective black leadership to
ensure we have a seat at the table.
Our conference is for anyone interested in the food-related
issues concerning urban Black communities--gardeners, growers, educators, farmers, cooks,
developers, nutritionists and concerned citizens everywhere.
Join
us! There are many ways to get
involved:
- Volunteer: Volunteers comprise 100% of the labor force for Black Urban Growers, the presenters of the Black Farmers and Urban Farmers Conference. We have no staff, no consultants...just talented, committed people like you. We need your help.
Email volunteers@blackfarmersconf.org to volunteer.
- Sponsor: Show your support for these issues by becoming a sponsor
of Black Urban Growers and our annual conference. There
are many sponsorship opportunities available for individuals, businesses, and
other organizations. To learn
more, contact us at sponsorship@blackfarmersconf.org.
- Wear your support: Buy a conference t-shirt or tote bag. They are fair trade and fabulous! All proceeds will support Black Urban Growers, the 100% volunteer-led nonprofit organization that presents the annual Black Farmers and Urban Gardeners Conference.
